Bernard (“Bernie”) J. LoVerde Jr., Founder & Executive Managing Director of Bernard LoVerde & Company, LLC | Advisory Services (“BJL”) leads the firm’s strategic advisory practice and oversees client relationships for a diverse set of clienteles primarily focused currently in the Mortgage Banking industry, including the law firms that represent both bank and non-bankfinancial institutions in that industry.  

This leadership role also includes both working with BJL’s primary affiliate(s), Royale Asset Management (www.royaleassetmanagement.com), which has been serving the high net-worth individual/family office market since 2015, as well as a collection of private money lenders and non-institutional banks that issue private money loans, or bridge loans, which are primarily secured by real estate assets and most often to finance the purchase, and renovations, of investment properties in the commercial and residential real estate markets in the United States (“U.S.”), which includes BJL affiliate, Bernard LoVerde & Company, LLC | Capital Group (“BJL”), that was formed in 2014.  Bernie’s extensive experience, and network of key contacts across various industry segments, enable BJLAS to assist its clients across the full spectrum of the mortgage banking, financial services, and real estate financing, landscapes. 

As a highly experienced executive with a demonstrated ability to lead diverse teams of professionals to new levels of success within competitive industries, cutting edge markets, and fast-paced environments, Bernie holds a proven ability to successfully analyze critical business requirements and identify deficiencies to optimize results and achieve a profitable turnaround. Additionally, and in conjunction with, his ability to develop innovative and cost-effective solutions that increase the return on investments and operations while enhancing the customer experience, he drives positive top and bottom-line performance and possesses a solid record of increasing sales, turning around various businesses, and training future leaders in intensely competitive industries.  This comes from a focus on enhancing the client's market share, strategic relationships, and alliances throughout his contacts in the U.S. Financial Services industry, with a core focus on the Mortgage Banking industry.

An investment & retail banking, mortgage banking, and default & legal services veteran, Bernie is well-respected throughout those industries.  Before dedicating his full-time efforts to BJL, Bernie served as a Director, Chief Marketing Officer, Chief Client Officer & Chief Strategy Officer of two of the largest Creditor’s Rights and Default Services focused law firms in the United States.  One of these firms maintained a nationwide bankruptcy practice group while the other led one of the largest REO closing operations in the U.S. at the time.  

Before those positions, Bernie served as an Officer, Vice President and Director of both theDefault Services Division, and of Sales & Marketing, of Public Abstract Corporation, a wholly-owned subsidiary of First American Title Insurance Company of New York (First American”), and was a member of the company’s Executive Committee.  While serving in that role, Bernie was also simultaneously an executive of First American National Default Title Services, the parent of which, First American Title Insurance Company, is both a perennial Fortune 500 company as well as a Fortune 100 Best Companies to Work For.  While at First American, Bernie led a redesign of the company’s aforementioned default services operation in New York State, which became the model program for direct default operation redesigns in other states nationwide for its National Default Title Services operation(s).  Furthermore, Bernie was also selected as one of 22 out of 14,600 (top 1/10th of 1%) U.S. employees of First American Title Insurance Company by its executive management to attend its ‘Advanced Leadership Skills Program’ in 2004.

Bernie began his career in Investment Banking and eventually rose to senior positions within two investment banking firms, one regional along the east coast, the other national, which, at its height, had 800+ employees across 20+ offices nationwide, and which was also a New York Stock Exchange (“NYSE”) member firm.  It was during this time where Bernie developed his focus, and skills, in Audit, Compliance, Capital Markets, Corporate Real Estate Management,and Vendor & Legal Network Management including the management of litigation and regulatory counsel throughout the United States on a regional basis.  While a part of the investment banking industry, Bernie was licensed under the National Association of Securities Dealers (“NASD” now known as the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, Inc. or “FINRA”)and remained in good standing while formerly holding the NASD Series 6, 7, 8, 24, and 63 licenses, some of which were considered a “Principal” or “Managers” licenses.  From there, Bernie served as a senior executive of a family office, overseeing a team of professionals, for an ultra-high net worth family overseeing a portfolio of, and subsequent disposition/liquidation of, a multi-hundred-million-dollar commercial and multi-family real estate portfolio.

In addition to the above, Bernie served as the co-chair of the Marketing & Business Development Committee of the American Legal and Financial Network (“ALFN”) from the committee’s inception several years ago until 2018 (he is still an active member of the Committee).  He has been, or is also still, on the management committees of several charitable organizations including the Al Sigl Community of Agencies where he has dedicated his time since 2004.
